We Weren’t Expecting to Stay (2) is Khizra Foundation’s second exhibition based on the interviews gathered by our project, Everyday Muslim. This exhibition reflects the story of South Asian Muslim migrants to Waltham Forest in the East End of London in the sixties. Learn of the shared experiences, emotions, trials and fun times of a generation who left their homes and family for a new life, with the intention of one day returning home.
